Though only in their early twenties, the Ariel Quartet recently marked its tenth anniversary. Formed in Israel, the Quartet moved to the United States in 2004, and rapidly gained attention for its musicality and remarkable interpretive power. The Ariel performs with the intensity and passion of a young quartet, while showing the conviction and cohesiveness of veterans. They have won prizes for their performances of Beethoven, Schubert, and Bartók. The Ariel Quartet has performed extensively in Israel, Europe, and North America, and is now the resident ensemble in the New England Conservatory’s prestigious Professional String Quartet Training Program.
